The Rende Side Table is named after the weaving village on Sumba's south coast. The top is a single live-edge suar slab, book-matched to a square and finished in natural beeswax. The legs are hand-turned from Sumba ebony — a dense, near-black hardwood air-dried for 18 months before turning.
Designed as a companion to the Waikabubak Chair or as a standalone accent. The contrast between the warm golden suar and near-black ebony is the whole design.
A side table for a reading chair, a bedside table, or a plant stand. The square footprint (50 × 50 cm) fits beside any seating without dominating the floor.
Suitable for indoor use. The ebony legs are extremely dense and moisture-resistant but should not be left in standing water. See wood care guide.

Samanea saman slab, live-edge retained on one side and finished square on the other. Wide, warm grain with occasional natural voids — filled with beeswax. Finished in natural beeswax, re-applicable at home.
Diospyros celebica, hand-turned in the Waingapu workshop from air-dried stock. Near-black, dense, and extremely hard. No finish applied to the legs — the ebony is stable without it.
Re-wax the suar top once or twice per year with natural beeswax — buff in and leave overnight. Wipe up spills immediately. Avoid hot vessels directly on the surface.
Wipe the ebony legs with a dry cloth. No oil or wax needed. If scratched, buff with 400-grit sandpaper along the grain and leave bare.
