The Laihuri Stool is the simplest piece in the collection — a single lathe-turned form in suar wood, finished in natural beeswax. It is made in one session on the workshop's hand-powered lathe by Petrus, the workshop's senior turner.
The form is entirely symmetrical — it can be inverted and used as a small table if placed upside down. At 3.2 kg it is light enough to move from room to room. The suar grain is visible through the clear beeswax; no two are identical.
A side seat, a bathroom stool, a plant stand, a step in a kitchen. Order a pair for a small breakfast counter or a set of three for a kitchen island.
Weight capacity 90 kg. Interior use. The suar is stable in tropical humidity; avoid outdoor use in rain.

Single-piece suar form, lathe-turned in the Waingapu workshop. The suar is dried and stabilised before turning. Grain, colour, and natural variations differ per piece. Finished in two coats of natural beeswax.
Natural beeswax sourced from Sumba apiaries. Applied warm, buffed smooth. Gives the suar a soft lustre without obscuring the grain. Re-applicable at home every year or two.
Re-wax once or twice per year. Warm the beeswax slightly, apply with a cloth, buff in circular motion. Wipe up spills. Avoid hot objects on the top surface.
The stool has no fabric or secondary material — just wipe with a damp cloth and re-wax as above.
